Choosing a Gift for a Friend

Next week is my friend Xiaolin's birthday.

I want to buy him a gift.

He likes sports and goes running every day.

I first go to a shop to look at shoes.

The shoes there are nice, but a little expensive.

Then I see a blue cup.

The cup is small and fits easily in a bag.

xiǎo小lín林zuì最xǐhuan喜欢lánsè蓝色。

Blue is Xiaolin's favourite colour.

wǒ我juéde觉得tā他pǎobù跑步yǐhòu以后kěyǐ可以yòng用zhè这gè个bēizi杯子hē喝shuǐ水。

I think he can use this cup to drink water after running.

wǒ我mǎi买le了bēizi杯子，hái还gěi给tā他xiě写le了yījùhuà一句话。

I buy the cup and write him a short message.

wǒ我xīwàng希望tā他xǐhuan喜欢zhè这jiàn件lǐwù礼物。

I hope he likes this gift.
